One Of Those "Oh, My, I'm Gonna Cry" Moments

Got an envelope in the mail the other day from Glenn, of Glenn and Judy, our "adopted" brother and sister who lived with Dad for several years up until his death last December and who took such wonderful care of him.  They are still in the process of going through all the stuff in the house and when Glenn found this of course he sent it to me.

I don't know if he KNEW I was going to start bawling when I saw what it was, but I have a suspicion he might have.  What he sent was in a folded envelope with a note written in Dad's inimitable handwriting:

And this was what was inside:

Dad kept this for 55 years (I was all of 7 years old in 1957).  BTW, Dad was born in 1926.

This pretty much answers any questions about where I got my packrat proclivities, doesn't it?

  4. Anybody with a heart, even a non packrat person, would not have been able to ever throw out something so sweet from their little girl!
