I'D LIKE TO TAKE THIS OPPORTUNITY TO SAY . . . . GEAUX SAINTS! WHO DAT WHO DAT WHO DAT!!!
OK, that being said (or screamed):
Today is the last Silver Sunday for Season One. There are so many people who love vintage silver and you can visit any or all of them by clicking on the Silver Sunday link on the sidebar. I love to collect just about anything, but vintage costume jewelry is really one of my main passions. For Silver Sunday, though, I wanted to trot out some of my beautiful sterling pins.

Antique shell cameo set in sterling silver--belonged to my grandmother.
Beautiful vintage Star Art sterling pin with smoky topaz stones.
Signed kTf rhinestone crab pin. Looks like one of his legs broke and was soldered back on. Some of the stones have darkened but when you consider this pin was made in the early days of Trifari (pre-patent), it's actually in pretty good shape. And those three red glass stones are so dramatic!
I have NEVER seen this pin before and believe me, I've looked through every costume jewelry book I could find and have searched high and low on the internet. I'm not sure how valuable it would be with the repair and the darkened stones, but I do know that I've got a pretty rare piece. One of these days I'll run into someone somewhere who can give me more info. Oh, BTW--I bought it at a flea market with a bunch of costume jewelry. I paid 25 cents for it.
I LOVE IT when that happens!!
And thank you Gypsy Fish Journal for hosting such a fun party. Can't wait for Season Two!

ReplyDeleteLove the cameo...but all are beautiful! Happy SS!

ReplyDeleteThe jewelry is great but that photo of your friend in SF, the one with the jumpsuit is toooooo much! How come we never knew each other back then? Ha, we probably did. Who'd remember?
ReplyDeleteThe second one is my favorite! It is so delicate looking!
ReplyDeleteGo Saints...they have some work to do in the second quarter!
