OMG! Looky Looky Looky!

I am sooooo in love with this beautiful chaise lounge!  It is upholstered in cream brocade with gold wood and it just screams GLAMOUR.  And look what I got at the auction I attended in Pensacola, FL Friday night: a vintage mannequin.  I'm going to dress her in Mom's wedding gown once I get her cleaned up.  I've named her Lydia.

This is Lydia's base.  Very old metal and very heavy.  There's a partial sticker on her back that reveals she was made by the Hugh Lyons Co. of Lansing, Michigan.  I can't believe I got her!

Also from the auction: an antique lamp with gorgeous reverse painted glass shade.  The shade has a rather long crack on the other side, but I'll just turn that side to the wall.  It's just breathtaking.

The table the lamp is resting on is one of two side tables I purchased.  They both have cut-to-fit glass tops.  The edges need some work but they are incredibly beautiful nevertheless.  The woman who owned them was an embassy employee at several venues around the world and these were probably moved several times.

This is just a small amount of the wonderful things I was able to purchase at both the auction and estate sale,  but I'll be sharing more later.  I've been going like a house afire for the last week!

And hey--don't forget about the giveaway!  The prize mountain is growing day by day, and since I just might hit that 50 Follower milestone, I'm going to add a fabulous handmade necklace to the pot.  Handmade by ME!   See my previous post for all the details, gals and guys.

  1. Oh my God that chaise. Soooo French favorite style of decorating. I might have to fly to Florida just so I can faint on it! Dazzling!

  2. Did you drive a U-Haul to the auction? If I'm recalling correctly, you drive a small sedan. I'm pretty sure all thes goodies wouldn't fit inside. Unless, of course, you strapped the chaise on top and let Lydia lounge up there. Much more elegant than Granny in her rocker!

    Love all you got!

  3. Can't wait to see your Mom's wedding dress on Lydia. Great scores! Lucky!!!

  4. That chaise is so lovely. I dream about having one of those.

  5. That's a beautiful fainting lounge (I've always wanted one), but I love the mannequin (it's very old)!

  6. You made out like a bandit! Iv been dying to see what you got since you commented on my facebook! The side tables are stunning! Caint wait to see more.

  7. Man those are some outstanding finds!

  8. What great finds! Please say hello to Lydia for me. :-)
