The yearly blooming of The Lone Amaryllis occurred today, which day happens to be #63 in an unbroken line of birthdays for yours truly. The Titanic hit an iceberg on April 14, and John Wilkes Booth shot Daniel Day, er, Abraham Lincoln on April 14. And then along came Gogie, Pegleg Georgie's firstborn, on April 14, 1950.

The world took little notice, but then as long as I had my wonderful parents, who really cared. I had them all to myself for two whole years until Lowly Trooper Sally busted on the scene. And then Susie, and then Cynthia. Cynthia was unfortunately the first to go, then Mom, then Dad in 2011. I miss them, and I cherish my two remaining family members.

Guess I'm feeling a little sad, being alone on my "special day", but that's ok. It could be worse: Romney might've won ....
