Tony Dow Still Makes My Heart Go Pitter-Patter

Leah at Storybook Ranch had a great video on her blog yesterday from an episode of "Leave It To Beaver".  Here's a link to her post.  I have a slight connection with the show--when we lived in southern California we attended a church in the Valley that put on an annual bazaar and each year someone who knew someone who knew someone would find a celebrity to be the star of the "Autograph Booth".  One year it was Barbara Hale (Della Street from "Perry Mason" and her husband, Bill Williams (star of the early 50's TV show, "The Adventures of Kit Carson").  The most memorable year for me, personally, was when Tony Dow was the guest.

OH MY GOD WHAT A DREAMBOAT!  I learned some interesting stuff (stuff: one of the Cleaver kids' favorite words, remember?) about Tony Dow today thanks to the weely wonderful world wide web, including the fact that he has a blog.  Check it out here--Wally Cleaver grew up to become a director, writer and sculptor of all things!

Here's Tony today, still just as cute as ever.

Thanks Leah, for inspiring me to revisit my happy 50's childhood!

P.S.  I am unable to leave comments on other blogs today--I write the comment and instead of publishing it to a blog I get an error message, so I go to Google Help about the problem and it appears it's not an uncommon happening BUT Google has never addressed it.  Hopefully it will resolve itself, but in the meantime I'm reading your blogs but CAN'T comment!

  1. Oh he's still cute! I'll have to check out his art as well.

For months I could not "follow" a lot of blogs for some reason. About 1 in 10, matter of fact. I'd get some funky window that wouldn't be the "click to follow" window. It finally seemed to resolve itself, but blogger just has it's glitches!

  3. Oh yeah, I had the hots for Tony as well. His wife looks loony! I would be a better wife for him. Yeah. Really.

  4. I like Ward. Should I see a shrink? Is it a father thing? Is he still around? Probably not.

  6. Hugh Beaumont died quite awhile back. Barbara Billingsly is still alive and kickin'--there's a fascinating video on Tony Dow's blog when the whole cast (except Hugh) was interviewed on GMA in celebration of the 50th anniversary of Leave It To Beaver. Do YOU speak "Jive"???

  7. Love Leah's blog! She is another interesting chick! Now, does the women with Tony in the photo look like she is ODing on botox or is she just very unhappy to be there?

  9. I couldn't comment yesterday, either! grr...

Did you see The NEW Leave it to Beaver in the 90's? It had almost the entire old cast, except for Ward of course. I think I liked Eddie Haskell the best, he was too funny. But, as far as eye candy goes...Wally wins hands down and yeah, he's still cute :)
