Year-End Cavalcade of Stuff

Here are some of my recent finds.  A Westmoreland Glass green stain fairy light.  It was purchased at an estate sale I went to recently that I'll be featuring in more detail next month.

My parents had both the coin glasses and the glass relish/nut dish.  Too bad I had to buy them, but I only paid $3 for the dish and $4.50 for 6 glasses.

A very cool ceramic TV lamp that just needs a light kit and it's moving out of the kitchen and into the living room.

OK, here's where my family starts to get concerned about me. This is just one shelf of my Pyrex, Fire-King, Glasbake, and Federal mixing bowls and casseroles.

The coin glasses will be joining this collection of retro glassware.  My favorites are the carousel animals glasses.

I really should start having dinner parties.  Top shelf: Pyrex "Pink Flamingo" dinnerware and Monax dessert set for four.  Middle shelf:  Fire-King "Vienna Lace" dinnerware and Fire-King "Pink Swirl" dinnerware, along with several sets of matching glassware.  Bottom shelf:  Bavarian porcelain, miscellaneous Hocking Glass "Miss America" pieces, and my favorite, Royal China's "Blue Heaven" dinnerware.

Same shelving:  on top, Jeannette "Floragold" dinnerware and serving pieces.  After much effort, I finally have a perfect salt & pepper set with no chips in the glass AND pristine plastic lids.  Unfortunately, when I started this collection the set was worth $100 and the latest Florence book values them at half that.  Aaargh!  "Floragold" is one of my favorite 50's glass patterns.  On the second shelf is Mom's Blue Ridge China set.  That's also a milk glass hurricane lamp with a beautiful handpainted shade.

Also after the first of the year, my antique mall booth will "go retro" which means I'm going to start featuring mainly mid-century items like the Pyrex.  That is, if I can bring myself to part with it . . .

  2. I think I would hold on to the Pink Flamingo! They just float my boat! Wouldn't they be fun to host a casserole-cover-dish-with-your-favorite cream-of-mushroom-soup-recipe-party! That pink would even make all that mushy brown look festive!!

  11. This is my first visit to you blog and all I can say is WOW! The Pyrex collection is to die for. I have some but not near enough! (HA) I am looking for the smallest nesting bowl to go with a set from my grandparent's estate. It's in the pink gooseberry pattern. It will be white with pink gooseberries. I was wondering if you have one and, if so, if you might be willing to sell it to me so my set will be complete. I really enjoy your blog and Happy Collecting!
