Ultimate New Year's Eve Destination

1978 -- where else to spend New Year's Eve but in . . .

"Glittering lights on fabulous Las Vegas strip"

"Stardust Hotel featuring Lido 78"

"The Elegant Caesar's Palace"

"Circus Circus", the tackiest casino of them all.

Swingin' chicks and groovy guys!  After gambling, how about going to the disco?  Do the Hustle!

WOO HOO!!  HAPPY NEW YEAR!!  LET'S BRING ON 2010!!

  1. although the vegas strip is now missing most of the vintage and 'old vegas' charm it used to have, you can still find quite a bit of vintage old vegas in the downtown strip. I LOVED walking through the Fremont strip and looking at the beautiful old casino signs that have been there for decades. The 4 Queens is the best of them all. Oh I miss downtown vegas......

  3. It's a shame most of that vintage charm is gone now, but dig those Camaro's!!

  4. Great old images!

I was born in Reno (my parents moved to Oregon when I was 6 mo. old), but you know, I've never been there, and honestly, I have no desire to go. lol

  5. Sounds like fun! Do I need to send you some quarters for the one armed bandit? Lather Mike in some gold chains and unbutton his shirt to his navel. Strap yourself into some spandex and have a ball! No Vegas in my future, but maybe a trip south...

  6. Those are fab pictures, and I wish that we could all time-travel there for a retro party!

Hope you have a wonderful New Year's, and all the best for 2010!

  7. The first I saw Vegas was around 1990. I so wish I had gone earlier! I have to show these to Dick because his first trip there was a year ago!
