It's Rednesday!!

Another holiday Rednesday hostessed by It's A Very Cherry World.  Here are a few of my favorite red things!  When my sister Sally and I were much much younger (like, in the early 60's) Mom bought us two horses--Mitzi the palomino for Sally and Red the part-Standardbred for me.  Since we lived in a tract home in the San Fernando Valley, we needed to board them somewhere and found the Thunderhead Ranch in Chatsworth (which is loooooong gone).  As it happened, Troop K of the California Rangers, a kiddie version of F Troop, was stationed at Thunderhead Ranch.  I will post a photo of Sally and me in our Ranger finery tomorrow, but for today, here's a beautiful Breyer Arabian stallion that Mom decorated for an entry into the annual Ranger holiday banquet table centerpiece contest.  I'm SURE she won.  Abu Dubu has a place of honor in my guest room.

I suddenly have a collection of crafty refrigerator magnets, all dolled up in red.  Check out the bear slippers!

It seems everyone has this Bing Crosby album but how many people have my awesome tin breadbox???

An unopened packet of Christmas tags and stickers made in the USA.

This little elf usually resides on top of a fabulous glittered church that I purchased from Magpie Ethel.  Today, though, it appears he's in a hurry to go somewhere.  Hmmm, what could be causing this sudden urgency?

Gotta get rid of all that elf ale!

PS--that is NOT elf poo in the bowl--this is a salt shaker and it has a cork stopper.

Am I feeling silly today, or what?

  1. Hi Christine. Thanks for following my humble blog. I love your red collection and had lots of fun looking at the items. I have the same Breyer Stallion (though mine is not as elegantly dressed ;-) It now sits on a shelf in my son's room. Hope you are having a wonderful week.
    Stay Cozy,

  3. Wow, lots of wonderful reds today! First of all, I love that patriotic fridge magnet! That breadbox is wonderful, and you've inspired me to look for one of those Bing Crosby albums! And that package of tags is pretty exciting to me, because I've started collecting old tags this year, and hope to one day find a whole package like yours!
    Happy REDnesday and Merry Christmas!

  4. LOL! What fun! I had forgotten about my Bryer horse collection. I gave it to a younger cousin after I married. Ouch, I kinda wish I had it back now. I don't know where they all ended up, I'll have to see if my aunt has them stashed somewhere!

  6. I need to seem more photos of the red elf toilet salt shaker. I would sooooo put that on our Christmas table just to see how far my kids' eyes can roll back in their heads! Very fun!

The elf is a cutey, too! I imagene they probably do poop corks! And their farts sound like champagne bottles opening!
